US President Donald Trump ( stated during an interview this morning on 3/31 that he warned Russian President Putin ) that if negotiations with Ukraine fail, a 25% tariff sanction will be imposed on all Russian oil exports. He also angrily threatened Iran that if they do not reach a nuclear agreement with the United States, bombing actions will be taken.

Because Putin's criticism of Zelensky angered Trump, the talks fell through and a 25% tariff was imposed on Russian oil.

When Trump learned that Putin criticized Ukrainian President Zelenskyy for his incompetent leadership and even called for a transitional government for Zelenskyy to step down, he candidly expressed that he was "very angry" and "exploded with rage," furiously stating that Putin's remarks were quite incorrect.

Trump then stated that if the U.S. and Russia cannot reach an agreement on a ceasefire in Ukraine, he would determine it to be Russia's fault, and the United States would impose a 25% to 50% tariff on Russian oil and initiate "secondary sanctions."

"As long as you buy Russian oil, don't think about doing business with the United States. That's how they dealt with Venezuela before," Trump warned countries around the world.

According to the Energy Research Center (CREA) analysis, the following are the main countries affected by secondary sanctions:

China

India

Turkey

Brazil

( Note: Secondary sanctions mean that not only the targeted country is sanctioned, but also third-party countries involved in oil transactions with the targeted country will be penalized, such as being unable to enter the U.S. market. )

It's not just Russia; Trump also indicated to Iran that he would bomb if they don't talk.

In addition to Russia, Trump also told Iran: "If Iran is not willing to reach a nuclear energy deal with the United States, then use bombing to entertain them." It's a massive bombing they've never seen before."

Despite Trump's statement that both sides are still in dialogue, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian publicly stated that he rejects any negotiations with the United States regarding nuclear programs, marking Iran's first response to Trump's letter to the Supreme Leader.

The ceasefire has become the main axis of Trump's diplomacy, with the Black Sea ceasefire just achieved and still needing to observe the follow-up.

Trump has always regarded "ending the Ukraine-Russia war" as the main focus of his diplomacy, and as a result, the United States has secretly arranged talks with officials from Ukraine and Russia.

Last week, both Russia and Ukraine reached a limited ceasefire protocol that allows for safe navigation in the Black Sea and stops attacks on each other’s energy infrastructure. However, whether it can further promote a comprehensive ceasefire remains to be seen.

The U.S. and Russia will talk again, Trump: I calm down quickly, but Putin needs to do the right thing.

Although Trump is quite dissatisfied with Putin's recent remarks, he still emphasizes that their relationship is good, and he further stated: "We will talk again this week, my anger actually dissipates quickly, but the premise is that he must do the right thing."
