Pictore, Demonstration Experiment of Power Pole Photography in Three Tohoku Prefectures──Contributing to Infrastructure Maintenance through Participatory Games

Digital Entertainment Asset (DEA), based in Singapore, announced on May 15 that it will conduct a demonstration experiment using the participatory social contribution game "PicTrée" in collaboration with NTT-ME and Greenway Grid Global for photographing utility poles. The period will be from May 17 to June 22, targeting approximately 150,000 utility poles located in the three northeastern prefectures of Aomori, Akita, and Yamagata.

In the demonstration experiment, participants will photograph utility poles through Pictole, and based on that data, methods for efficient maintenance and management of power infrastructure facilities such as utility poles and power lines will be examined. Players are divided into three teams to participate in a game format, and rewards such as Amazon gift cards and cryptocurrency DEAPcoin (DEP) issued by DEA will be granted based on their performance in the game.

The company has previously conducted similar demonstration experiments in three districts in central Tokyo, three prefectures in northern Kanto, and Shizuoka Prefecture, contributing to the early detection of equipment malfunctions such as trees approaching utility poles and crows nesting.
