U.S. President Donald Trump argued in his recent statements that there is broad consensus on the need for the Fed to lower interest rates.

However, Trump reiterated his criticisms of Fed Chair Jerome Powell, stating, "'Too Late Powell' will probably mess things up again."

Trump stated that almost everyone agrees that the FED should lower interest rates soon. However, he suggested that Powell would mismanage this process just like he did in previous steps. In April, Trump had also said about Powell, "He should be removed from office as soon as possible" and labeled him a "big loser." After those statements caused turmoil in the markets, Trump took a step back for a while, but this month he reacted again to the lack of interest rate cuts.

Trump also announced that he would have a phone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday. After his meeting with Putin, Trump stated that he would speak with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and announced that he would also meet with various figures from NATO alongside Zelenskyy.
