The US and Europe have reached a trade protocol; the EU plans to purchase $750 billion worth of American energy and AI chips.

On August 21, the EU and the US reached an agreement on a joint statement finalizing a trade deal. The EU plans to procure $750 billion worth of US liquefied natural gas, oil, and nuclear energy products, as well as at least $40 billion in US artificial intelligence chips. It reiterated that EU companies will invest an additional $600 billion in strategic sectors in the US before 2028.
